Ancient sources include the Babylonian Talmud and midrashic literature in Midrash rabbah and Yalkut Shimoni; medieval sources include Josippon, Midrash Sefer ha-yashar, and Yuḥasin; contemporary sources include the story of Shlomo Molkho (1500?-1532) and David Reuveni (f. 2r); the founding of the Hebrew printing press in Sabbioneta (f. 2r). Final folio inscribed in a different hand (possibly earlier) with a brief text expounding the word halakhah (הלכה), likely to use for an introduction to a discourse; numbers written out in Spanish below (f. 3r).
