Summary:
The cathedra Pensamiento situado is an itinerant program, curated by Ileana Diéguez and Ana Longoni, and co-organized by the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, (campus Cuajimalpa, México) and the Museo Reina Sofia (Madrid, Spain). This professorship seeks to stimulate the circulation of intellectual knowledge and practices, activists and artists generally dispersed and disjointed by the wide and dissimilar Latin American territory, and to promote meeting spaces where to reflect on crucial problems (poetic and political) that take place outside the university and the museum and that, undoubtedly, challenge, mobilize and oxygenate them. As a result of the first edition of the Cathedral in 2019, the collection Pensamiento situado is born, an editorial project resulting from the collaboration between the two aforementioned institutions and the publishing house Ediciones DocumentA/Escénicas (Bs.As., Argentina), that seeks to collect and share the reflections and contributions resulting from the various meetings motivated by this program, in order to contribute to disseminate diverse voices that, from different parts of Latin America, are taking a position in the present public debate. The event constitutes a space for reflection, debate and dialogue in the context of the notion of knowledge situated, accommodating different voices and proposals that open fissures in the current hegemonic order. Participating in this issue Ileana Diéguez and Ana Longoni, curators of the professorship, and researchers specializing in critical perspective in the context of Latin American feminisms Riþan Lozano and Maria Pía López.
