Summary:
In 1977 the plane carrying the grandparents of sisters Malen and Suyai Otaño crashed into a mountain. Twin Otter T-87 was the name of the crashed plane and its the performance project that took the artistic duo of the twin sisters to the highest point of Cerro Paleta in Patagonia Argentina where the search for the wreckage of the plane was originally carried out. The search for material evidence was the engine of the actions of this artistic piece that in its course generates various artistic materials in link with the documents that put into play a permanent edge between disappearance and appearance, between death and survival. Twin Otter T-87, rescues and reinvents the plot of an opaque memory in different gestures and writing spaces through poems, diaries, photos and documents. This project happens on the map of Argentina during the last military dictatorship and talks about how the past can be touched, scaled, photographed, written and rewritten in the actions of a present.
