- Summary:
- Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. In these two volumes, as in the first volume, the number of pages allotted by my publishers has been exceeded. It is due to the liberality of the Honourable Societies of Gray's Inn, Lincoln's Inn, and the Middle Temple, that l have been able to include the extra pages needed to obtain completeness of treatment. I again have to thank Dr. Hazel, my successor in the All Souls Readership of English Law in the University of Oxford, and Reader in Constitutional Law and Legal History in the Inns of Court, for the benefit of his criticism, and help in correcting the proof sheets; and Mr. Costin, Fellow and Lecturer in History at St. John's College, Oxford, for making the list of statutes.
