- Summary:
- This is a manuscript of a prayer for rain recited publicly during a drought following the Amidah prayers. It contains the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy, which are introduced in Aramaic (the custom to pray in Aramaic is less common because the ministering angels traditionally do not understand it, and in this case it is used likely as a deterrent to Satan). The prayer is followed by extracts of verses and a piyut, read responsively between the chazzan and congregation (בגשמי אורה תאיר אדמה). Item originated as a bifolium in a codex; repaired and pressed flat, with original punch holes filled. Blue paper.
