Kristina Schuldt (1982, Moscow) creates her own visual language in her paintings. Figures reminiscent of Picasso or Léger sit in a miniskirt and platform soles behind a laptop. Thus, the avant-garde of the 1920s gets an update to the 2020s. Powerful and playful, the women in Schuldt's world move about. They are women who take up space, women who are vulnerable with bravado. Schuldt often paints from personal experience. The painting Muse, for example, reflects on the struggle with not getting around to painting. Kristina Schuldt lives and works in Leipzig. She is part of the Neue Leipziger Schule, the collective name for the fourth-generation Leipzig painters who received their training at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst.

Kristina Schuldt (1982, Moskou) creëert in haar schilderijen een eigen beeldtaal. Figuren die doen denken aan Picasso of Léger zitten in een minirok en plateauzolen achter een laptop. Zo krijgt de avantgarde van de 1920's een update naar de jaren 2020. Krachtig en speels bewegen de vrouwen in Schuldts wereld zich voort. Het zijn vrouwen die ruimte innemen, vrouwen die met bravoure kwetsbaar zijn. Schuldt schildert vaak vanuit persoonlijke ervaring. Zo reflecteert het schilderij Muse onder meer op de worsteling met het niet toekomen aan schilderen. Kristina Schuldt woont en werkt in Leipzig. Zij is onderdeel van de Neue Leipziger Schule, de verzamelnaam voor de Leipziger schilders van de vierde generatie die hun opleiding aan de Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst genoten.
