Summary:
With the waste in the production of tequila, the ITESO Sustainability Postgraduate and the Beckmann Foundation convened an international architecture competition to project sustainable social housing in the Tequila Region using these waste. There were 295 registered teams, 684 participants from 13 Latin American countries registered, and this document gives an account of the challenge as well as the 32 selected projects and 16 finalists. This book is the outcome of a great collective effort that was promoted from the Sustainability Postgraduate Courses, within the framework of the 2nd. Congreso Internacional sobre Sustentabilidad en los Hábitats which took place from 5 to 7 September 2018 at the ITESO, Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara (México). From the Department of Habitat and Urban Development, through its Master's Degree in City and Sustainable Public Space and its Master's Degree in Sustainable Projects and Building, in conjunction with the Fundación Beckmann (previously Fundación José Cuervo), sought to generate the appropriate scenario that would link the professional, civil and academic sectors.
