Includes extracts and summaries of Agents' diaries for Apr-Jun 1881, along with correspondence relating to a Russian trade mission to Kabul, a Daily News journalist held captive in Merv, boundaries, Russian movements, a Russian diplomatic mission to Bukhara, Afghan affairs and the Teke. A copy of a letter (Jan 1881) signed by Deputy Foreign Minister Nikolay Girs (Giers), copies of Russian abstracts, an extensive report on the Teke, a petition from Merv chiefs to Queen Victoria (with translation and related letters) and a report on General Gasteiger's journey to Baluchistan are also included.
