Comprises three maps: 'Map to illustrate report on Toorkoman Tribes between the Caspian and the Oxus, showing roads, rivers, places and passes; showing the Herat boundary as depicted on English and Russian maps'. MS additions, coloured. 'Map of Khorasan, and neighbouring countries.' Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to about 23 miles. Drawn by H Sharban, Royal Geographical Society; lithographed by E Weller, Red Lion Square; published for the Proceedings of the Royal Geographical Society, 1881. Originally illustrating a paper by Lieutenant Colonel C E Stewart, 5th Punjab Infantry; transmitted in an India Office letter, 11 August [1881]. 'Map of the Tekke Turkoman Country and adjoining Districts': map showing the area between 40°15'N and 36°N and between 53°15'E and 60°E. Reference table to railways. Scale; 1 inch to 16 miles. Compiled and zincographed at the Intelligence Department, Horse Guards, January 1881. MS additions, coloured. Removed from Mr Wyndham's despatch number 410 on the Russo-Persian frontier, 5 August 1881.'
