- Summary:
- In May 2012, a group of researchers convened in Uppsala for the workshop: "The Pyramids: Between Life and Death." The purpose was to stimulate an exchange between the different research directions dealing with the wide topic of pyramids. The meeting focused on the pyramids of the Old Kingdom. This volume contains the papers from the workshop. It is divided in two main sections; the first one contains six papers discussing classical pyramid reception, archaeological and architectural issues of the pyramids, the pyramid temple, the topic of pyramid towns and harbour, while five papers in the second part deal with texts and their location. -- Back cover.
