Summary:
After winning an art scholarship to Paris David Orland asks Margarita to marry him and travel to Europe with him. However Margarita is tormented by her past, having sacrificed her homor to Edwin Ramsey to receive money for her dying mother. David accepts her despite her past and they flee to Paris. Poverty and hardships soon force Margarita to further sacrifices and her peril grows when one of Ramsey's lacivious friends begin to track her down in Paris.
