Summary:
(The innocence of Ruth) Ruth Travers is orphaned and left the ward of an honorable young millionaire, Jimmy Carter, who places her in the motherly care of his housekeeper, Mrs. Jenkins. Ruth's winsome qualities gradually win Jimmy's heart. At the Charity Ball, Ruth meets Edna Morris, the mistress of villainous forger, Mortimer Reynolds, who is contriving to ruin Ruth's virtue. Next day, Ruth has a misunderstanding with Carter, and hastens to Edna's house, where Reynolds plies her with wine and attempts to seduce her. Carter rescues her just in time, and asks her to marry him.
(Brother of the bear) A mill superintendent exiles himself to the Maine woods to work on his anger management problems. He cannot forget the daughter of the mill owner, so a rival suitor frames him for embezzlement. With the help of Bill, the 'taim' bear, the mill superintendent wins out.
