Summary:
Otobong Nkanga: Uncertain Where the Next Wind Blows" is the accompanying catalogue of the inaugural exhibition of the Lise Wilhelmsen Art Award Programme. Both the exhibition and catalogue present a broad spectrum of Otobong Nkanga's (b. 1974) oeuvre through almost 70 works created within the last 20 years. Nkanga's drawings, installations, tapestries, photographs, sculptures, and performances explore the complex impact of human history and presence on nature and landscapes. Through her multidisciplinary practice, Nkanga studies resource extraction, manufacture, and the global circulation of goods in the economy.
