Notes:
Issued monthly until 1930; in that year the plan of publication was changed, two new periodicals being inaugurated, "The Review" (July 1930) and "Metal progress" (Sept. 1930) while the Transactions were to be issued semiannually; v. 18, July/Dec. 1930, was so issued. Publication was suspended until Nov. 1931, when the montly issues were resumed.

The Transactions continue the publications of the American Steel Treaters Society and the Steel Treating Resarch Society, which united in 1920 to form the American Society for Steel Treating.
