Summary:
The decoration of the door of Horus is a theological digest of the doctrines of Edfu and Dendara; it was designed during the last glorious period of the city, in the second century AD. AD The north facade is reserved for Horus, the passage to Hathor; as for the south facade, it constitutes an exceptional source on the mysteries of Osiris. The vegetable figurines, we learn, were prepared in the enclosure of the domain of Horus, then transferred to the necropolis of Osiris located some seven hundred meters further in the desert. The texts, borrowed from the Osirian archives, bring a lot to the history and archeology of the site.
