- Summary:
- This is a manuscript parchment leaf that originally accompanied a Megillah presented to a groom as a wedding gift, on which the scribe wrote the blessings which preceding and following the public Megillah reading on Purim, along with good wishes to the groom. The groom was Yosef Shaʼul ben Shemariyah, and this manuscript originated in North Africa, possibly Morocco, during the early 19th century. Written in two columns inside a frame of two bounding lines, with an additional two bounding lines dividing the center; written in a Sephardic square script. Gift inscription written inside drawn arc-shaped enclosures above blessings, forming a design of two tablets.
