Based on a study of 18 cases of school violence (killing), and on discussions at a conference held in Leesburg, Va., in 1999, attempts to set some parameters for assessing the threat of violence in any given school situation and to establish means of intervention to prevent deadly violence. Discusses profiling of potentially violent students.
