- Two brothers, Luis and Nico fight for the love of Laura, who, after dating Nico, falls in love with Luis. Nico subsequently dies of an illness, while Luis and Laura move to Paris. Luis' mother begins writing letters to both Luis and Laura, which refer to Nico as if he were still alive.
