- Chaim Weizmann, born in 1874 in Russia, became the first president of Israel in 1948. He was at the center of the crucial events leading to the creation of the State of Israel. This documentary covers Weizmann's youth and his involvement in the Zionist movement during the time of the Balfour Declaration, the British Mandate, the Peel Commission, and the 1939 White Paper. Conflicts with the Arabs and the policies of the British are discussed, as are critical views on Weizmann's leadership.
