- Summary:
- The Holocaust was never discussed in the Rubinstein home except for stories with happy endings. The family returns to Hungary and tells stories of suffering, courage and the will to survive. They struggle between nostalgia for Hungarian traditions and their anger with fellow Hungarians, between the need to erase the effect of the Holocaust and the need to remember. The filmmaker also reflects on her need, as the second generation, to realize the effect of the Holocaust on her own life, while appreciating the life her parents established in Israel.
