- Summary:
- This is a manuscript of the Seder Tashlikh used in a cabalistic rite. The top line begins with the verse preceding the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy (in Hebrew Shelosh ʻeśreh midot; Exodus 34:6-7), and the two sets of verses in the two outer columns below are with instruction to be repeated three times (while meditating on the corresponding commentary in the center column). The verses in the right column continue with Exodus 34:6-7, and each of the Attributes are numbered; these are grouped with the corresponding divine attributes (in the verses at the left column) found in Micah 7:17-20. The commentary at the center column is a compilation of Tannaic commentary on the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy (see Yalkut Shimoni, Exodus, nos. 398-400) and is laid out to correspond with both sets of verses in either linear direction (in the adjoining columns). Each word of the verses from Exodus is supplied in Atbash below each word (Atbash is a reverse cipher which uses the corresponding count of the Hebrew alphabet backward); divine names for meditation added for Attributes 4,5,8 and 9.
