- Exhibition of the 7th Instituto Tomie Ohtake AkzoNobel Architecture Awards presents projects selected in the PROFESSIONAL category and three more in the UNIVERSITY STUDENTS category. This edition enrolled 246 projects from 14 Brazilian states and the Federal District, 435 Professionals. The works gathered at the exhibition will be displayed in a catalog. The jury of this edition was formed by architects Elisabeth Franca, Juliana Braga, Diego Mauro, Fernando Tulio and Pedro Varella. About the prize: The Instituto Tomie Ohtake AkzoNobel Architecture Awards seeks to recognize the outstanding architectural productions in the Brazilian contemporary scene, valuing the innovative ways of thinking and building the social space, thus contributing to the drawing of the current panorama of national architecture in its most varied contexts. The selected projects participate in the exhibition at the Instituto Tomie Ohtake space and are gathered in a catalogue, and the winners, announced at the opening of the exhibition, are awarded international trips and internship in an architecture office. "This edition received 246 projects located in 14 states and the Federal District, in addition to Argentina, Spain and the unusual territory of Antarctica. This is a very significant number, especially if we take into account the economic and social change we have suffered in recent months with the Covid-19 pandemic. The 246 projects registered correspond to 435 professionals as authors. Of this total 66% are men and 24.6% of women, white people correspond to 77%., 6.44% are black or brown people, 2.07% are Asian and 0.23% are mixed race.
