Summary:
The strength of Johan Tahon lies in his stubborn attitude in which he wants to continue to show the traces of the fight that is often only - and always only fully - visible and tangible in the artist's studio.' Dixit Jan Hoet, who discovered artist Johan Tahon at the time. More than thirty years later, there is now 'Universus', the book accompanying the exhibition of the same name in Oudenaarde, named after the image that has been there for twenty years. That is also the time frame that 'Universus' covers, because more than a catalog it is also the story of the evolution in Tahon's sculpture, of his place in art history and of the objects he collects. Exhibition: MOU Museum of Oudenaarde, Belgium (24.04-30.09.2021)
