This book is not only intended for students of building, civil/structure engineering but also for building pathologists, concrete technologists, structural forensics as well as engineers involved in structural investigation regardless of code of practices used in design, e.g. European codes (EC2) or British code (BS8110). Parts of this book, especially on checking of structural abnormality based on deflection, are addressed to benefit the non-professionals. This book exposes the secret behind failure of the building structure based on author's experiences as lecturer as well as practicing consultant engineer. This book is also published with hope that at least it will disclose the factor or provide some indicators that contribute or lead to structural failure not only limited to concrete structure but also steel structure. These are possible with the help of check sheets presented in Chapter 2.
