Summary:
In "Against Reason", artist Luis Montes Rojas (Chile 1977) develops nine sculptural montages of figurative character. Through processes similar to police expertise, information collection and fingerprinting, the artist reveals, through the figure of the monument and institutional architecture, the reporting character of the power that gave them origin and ontological power. Finally, it is necessary to take into account that, through the ornamental and a strategic use of the fragmentary, the artist presents us with a story that has been "erased", crossed out, that is, a historically put on suspense by the materialization of micro-reports that break the aesthetic unity and political rationality that underpin the myth of the State.
