Summary:
This volume brings together a series of texts written and published in the first two decades of the 21st century, which address the problems and traditional objects of film and audiovisual semiotics, or that propose new objects of inquiry, new questions. The first part is devoted to general theories, and the so-called "cognitive turn" of film studies takes precedence, based on translations of unpublished texts in Spanish: the PECMA flow theory of the Danish researcher Torben Grodal; the cognitive semantics applied to the audiovisual interpretation of the British Warren Buckland, or a new approach to the experience of the viewer in front of the audiovisual device by Todd Oakley. This part also includes translations of two texts by Roger Odin, pioneer of the semi-democratic approach, which allow us to see their relevance to address both problems in the history of cinema and audiovisuals, as well as their contemporary manifestations.
