- Summary:
- Author, professor and researcher Andrea Giunta (Buenos Aires, 1960) was appointed by the Mercosur Visual Arts Biennial Foundation to take over as head curator of Biennial 12. She choose as assistant curators Polish Dorota Biczel and Brazilian Fabiana Lopes and Igor Simões who will join Giunta in the curating committee for the event. "The Voice of the Artists inThree Languages. In this journal we prioritize the word of artists included in the 12th Biennial of Porto Alegre. In many cases, they are seminal texts that were part of the inaugural presentation of some of the series we have selected. Other texts become independent from the works to express aspects linked to the artists' thinking. These are documents, commitments, manifests. The purpose is to expand the works in a constellation of texts conceived from the languages in which knowledge about modern and contemporary art of Latin America is produced." (HKB Translation) --Pages 3-4.
