Summary:
Contains clues to the theoretical lines Baker followed in his later texts: Deleuze and Guattari's rhizomatic conception, Spinoza's hermeneutic theology, Virilio's concept of speed and motion, opinion society, etc. The direct subject of the study is the Islamic discourse. Baker, in particular, looks at the transformation of religious discourse into the language of modern opinion and the "construction" processes of opinions and identities. It focuses on the harmony between Islamism's discourse of moral opposition to capitalism and the performance of "getting along" with it. On the other hand, he trips over all of the concepts used in relation to Islamism, and questions the conceptual frameworks for interpreting it.
