- Summary:
- The "O'Kalems" was the unofficial name given to members of New York's Kalem Film Company, especially Gene Gauntier (writer/actress) and Sidney Olcott (director/actor), who between 1910 and 1915 produced several silent films dealing with Ireland and Irish subjects. This collection presents the 7 films of their collaboration surviving in the IFI Irish Film Archive (as well as another Olcott wrote and directed without Gauntier's participation), all filmed in Ireland, as well as the 2011 documentary by Peter Flynn, Blazing the trail: the O'Kalems in Ireland.
