The Plumptre edition was first publishing in 1826. Lovett, R.W. Robinson Crusoe, lists two Society editions., an unexamined 1850 edition (406)--and an 1882 reissue (645). NUC pre-1956 also lists an [1850?] (0118298, volume 136, page 597) and an [1882?] (0118467, volume 136, page 603) edition. The British Museum Defoe catalog lists a [circa 1850?] edition None of these descriptions exactly match the copy in hand.
Remainder of imprint: Sold at the depositories: 77, Great Queen Street, Lincoln's Inn Fields; 4, Royal Exchange; 48, Piccadilly; and by all booksellers.
Some illustrations engraved by Whymper.
Introd. includes Cowper's verses and a postscript related to the authorship of Robinson Crusoe.
