Advertisement on back cover mentions Big picture series, 35 kinds, price 25 cents each; Gilt cover picture books, price 15 cents, royal 8vo, four full page pictures, printed in colors; and Ancient nursery rhymes, mediaeval style, set to music, long 12mo., gilt back grounds and brilliant oil colors price 10 cents each. The trade catalogue, McLoughlin Brothers, New York. Catalogue of toy books ... for 1875-'76 lists 50 titles in the Big picture series; and the description for Ancient nursery rhymes mentions a bigger 8vo format, so issue in hand probably pre-dates 1875.
