- Smith copy copiously annotated, with manuscript note following edition statement on title leaf ("quas castigavit, et notis illustravit &c. Franciscij Eduarduj, Soc. Jesu.") identifying the annotator as Franciscus Eduardus, S.J.
- Smith copy purchased for the Penn Libraries in 2021 from Antiquariat Forum.
- Smith copy has early autograph ("Franco. Duarte") on title leaf.
- Smith copy bound in full contemporary mottled calf; 5 raised, gold-tooled bands on spine; gold-tooled spine panels; leather spine label (damaged) with title stamped in gold; all edges red.
- Smith copy: "Spine worn, spine label a little damaged, first endpaper a little frayed, some marginal water stains (especially at the beginning of the work), a marginal wormhole on pp. 685-790 (not affecting the text)"--Bookseller's description.
