Summary:
This is a manuscript of miscellaneous prayers and texts arranged for recitation (sidarim) for various occasions in life cycle events. The item begins with a seder for a yahrzeit, with readings from the Pentateuch, Psalms, and the Mishnah; there is a prayer for the soul of the departed following the seder. Following this is a seder order for one who has recovered from an illness, and it is followed by a seder for one who is ill. There is an seder for the "consecration of a house" ("ḥinukh ha-bayit", language taken from Psalms 30:1) and a long prayer following this seder. Since the language of the prayers are for "peloni", i.e. anonymous, it may suggest that this was a daily-use manuscript for an officiating rabbi or sexton who would pray for members of their community, either for donation or for benefaction. Written partially with lists of sources in a single column, with prayers written in long lines without abbreviations. Written in Hebrew in a late 19th-century Italian semicursive script, with a long line denoting a new occasion. Paper is machine-made and unruled, and sewn in a heavy-paper wrapper.
