Digital signal processing (DSP) is widely spread in consumer technology and in many other fields as well. This book provides a solid overview of security issues related to hardware for DSP applications. The way this book is structured makes it useful for teaching purposes as well as self-study. Each of the chapters contains case studies and review questions and exercises. The book introduces the reader to important fundamental concepts and the need for security in IP cores, and then leads on to forensic detective control using hardware steganography for IP core protection. Then the book discusses watermarking as a protection tool, followed by cryptosystems and buyer's and vendor's rights. The next topic is the obfuscation of fault-secured DSP circuits, followed by hologram-based obfuscation. The last chapter covers functional obfuscation.
