Summary:
Felipe Uribe is part of a generation of architects who dared to dream, through architecture, a possible city at a time when the very notion of a city (Medellín) seemed impossible before the violence and fear of the drug wars. It was perhaps the same condition of crisis that made this generation dedicate itself with passion and conviction to rebuilding an imaginary possible through architecture, its public spaces, its institutions, streets and neighborhoods, its people and its culture. This beautiful book tells of a special way a trip through the work of Felipe. It is not the typical monograph that catalogs works and classifies them, but an intimate adventure around life and the passions that frame a work of great quality, rich in experimentation and production. Beyond the formal expression, which in the work of Felipe has an important role, is the ability of their buildings to invent and create gaps, public or domestic spaces that manifest with generosity and clarity, the role of the collective in the city and its importance. Felipe's work, his projects and his ideas, have made a significant contribution in the construction of the culture of the city.
