Summary:
Letter written in inference (to escape the Turkish postal surveillance) of ongoing work Porath undertook to purchase military exemptions for Turkish Yeshivah students, who received draft notices to serve in the ongoing Ottoman military campaigns (fighting in the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913, and the Turco-Italian War, 1911-1912); the verso is dated three days later, written with inference, instructing the next moves for securing the draft exemptions for the longer term; Porath, who was fluent in Turkish, criticized mistakes apparently written by Turkish Rabbis ("נכתב במתאין או בשוגג [...] בחסרון נקודה אחת באופן שהמילה נקראת קוראן...ַ"). Two additional cuttings, one in Hebrew and the other in Turkish, all written by Porath.
