Prologue by Father Gaubert for this 1513 compilation of saints' lives, translated from the Spanish, possibly originally compiled by Jean Gerson (compare Livros antigos portrait).
Text in double columns to the page, in black letter type.
Title in woodcut floral border, in red and black, above it royal arms of Portugal and armillary sphere, repeated on folio [i] recto; on verso full pages woodcut of Dom Manuel seated on a throne.
