Final leaf pi1 has the bishop's imprimatur.

Incontestably the first book printed in Brazil. Antonio Isidoro da Fonseca also had a press in Lisbon; hence his use of "segunda officio." He circumvented the need for a license by adding, after the date: "Com licenças do Senhor Bispo." This copy, with the date misprinted, is one of two issues; the misprint in the word "auzentes" on the title page has een corrected. See Moraes for further comments.
