The "Journal von Brasilien" forms part of the series "Neue Bibliothek der wichtigsten Reisebeschreibungen zur Erweiterung der Erd- und Völkerkunde," published by F.J. Bertuch. Some copies have additional title page for the collected "Reisebeschreibungen" according to Moraes.

The author's initials W.C. on the title page are a misprint for W.L.
