Selection of articles from Nouveau cours complet d'agriculture théorique et pratique, contenant la grande et la petite culture, l'économie rurale et domestique, la médecine vétérinaire, etc., ou Dictionnaire raisonné et universel d'agriculture (Paris: Chez Déterville, 1809), an encyclopedia in 13 volumes with articles written by members of the Agriculture section of the Institut de France. The articles are abridged in the manuscript, but notes and excerpts from other sources are also included. The articles, removed from the alphabetical arrangement of the encyclopedia and associated by topic, address subjects such as nurseries (Pépinières, by L. A. G. Bosc, Inspecteur de pépinières imperiales et de celles du gouvernment); crop rotation (Assolements and Succession de Cultures, by J.-A.-Victor Yvart, Professeur d'agriculture et d"économie rurale a l'École impériale d'Alfort); flour, bread, and potatoes (Farine, Pain, Patates, Pommes de terre, by Antoine Augustin Parmentier, Inspecteur général du Service de Santé); and hemp and linen (Chanvre and Lin, by Bosc). Deterioration on lower fore edge has led to some loss of text and the risk of additional loss on each leaf.
