- "'זר מכאן' מתאר את סיפורו יוצא הדופן של ארנון צוקרמן (נו' 1934), שהוא גם סיפורה של תקופה, עדות של בן-הדור. צוקרמן מספר בקול אמיץ על נתיב חייו המקצועיים מילדותו בחיפה היהודית-ערבית, שירותו בחיל הים, דרך ניהול הטלוויזיה. בהמשך עשה דרכו באקדמיה באוניברסיטת תל אביב, ובאוניברסיטה של ניו יורק (NYU) ועד נשיאות בצלאל, האקדמיה לאמנות ועיצוב בשנות האלפיים. צוקרמן ניהל את הטלוויזיה ממלחמת יום הכיפורים (1973), כשמילאה תפקיד מרכזי בהצגת החזית לעורף, ועד לחתימת הסכם השלום עם מצרים (1979) - אחת התקופות הסוערות בתולדות המדינה. כמו כן מילא תפקיד מכריע ביצירת כלי תקשורת בועט הנלחם על עצמאותו ומסרב להיות נגוע בפוליטיזציה. הייתה זאת התקופה המפוארת בתולדות הטלוויזיה: עם סאטירה נוקבת - ניקוי ראש, משדרי חדשות וענייני היום רחבי יריעה, עם מדגם הבחירות הטלוויזיוני הראשון ב־1977 שבישר את המהפך הפוליטי, סיקור ביקור סאדאת ותהליך השלום עם מצרים"--Back cover.
