Alexandra Sanmark is Reader in Medieval Archaeology at the Institute for Northern Studies, University of the Highlands and Islands, UK. Frode Iversen is Professor in Archaeology at the Museum of Cultural History, University of Oslo, Norway. Natascha Mehler is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Prehistory and Historical Archaeology, Vienna University, Austria.
