- This first Danish translation of the Haggadah was by Marcus Melchior, the chief Rabbi of Denmark. Although there were some Hebrew books printed in Copenhagen at this time, this first Danish translation was published in Berlin, which was a larger center of Hebrew printing than Copenhagen
