Summary:
This is a manuscript of devotions for women for the women-only ordinations called na. ḥa. h. (נח"ה, nidah, ḥalah, hadlaḳah); in this context, they are for milestones during pregnancy (such as prayers for the third trimester and the ninth month), the lighting of the Sabbath candles, the tithing of dough, and a final prayer said immediately before immersion in a mikvah (ritual bath). While these three commandments are widely known as the woman's commandments, many of the devotions are dedicated to the remedying difficulties surrounding childbirth and raising children and not to general womanhood. Many of the devotional prayers are preceded by chapters or verses of the Psalms, with the exception of the final prayer for the night of immersion, and is a prayer for sons who become Torah scholars. Finally, the manuscript ends with prayers for a personal fast day (תענית יחיד).
