Summary:
This is a manuscript of an ethnobotanic medical text; two leaves, and a small piece of a third leaf remain (all surviving as binding waste). The text provides short medicinal properties of plants (with many plant names in Judeo-Arabic); for example, Acacia's ophthalmological properties (f. 1v), and pharmacological derivatives of frogs (or small amphibians; f2v). Original foliation remains (כ, [כא], כב; upper left recto) perhaps indicating that this is an adaptation of a larger work, likely for Jewish use; possibly a Jewish adaptation of material from De materia medica by Dioscorides.
