- Summary:
- Accomplished Italian trumpet player Marco Pierobon works with Sahar Berger on Böhme's Trumpet Concerto in F minor Op.18 at a master class at the Ra'anana Music Centre in Israel. Born in a small town near Dresden in 1870, the German composer and trumpeter Oskar Böhme made much of his professional career in Russia. There, he played cornet in St. Petersburg's legendary Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra for 24 years, along with other teaching and performing activities, before being exiled to Orenburg because of his German heritage during Stalin's Great Terror in 1934. His Trumpet Concerto, Op. 18, first published in 1899, is one of the most widely recognized of the 46 works he is known to have composed. Marco Pierobon is an accomplished Italian trumpet player and professor. He won first prize in international competitions in Passau, Germany, and Imperia and Aqui Terme, Italy. For nearly a decade, Marco has been the Principal Trumpet of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra of Florence and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia Orchestra of Rome. He has collaborated with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Filarmonica della Scala Orchestra. Since 2007, Marco has been trumpet professor at the Conservatories of Bolzano and Reggio Emilia, Italy.
