- Summary:
- Winner of numerous awards--including the Credit Suisse Young Artists Award, a Diapason d'Or, and a Gramophone--the young Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang is celebrated worldwide for her profound musicianship and nuanced lyricism. Here she performs Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 1 at the side of the Münchner Philharmoniker under the baton of Valery Gergiev. The concert took place as part of the 2016 MPHIL 360°, which featured performances of all of Mozart's violin concertos by rising star violinists. Written in the early 1770s when the composer himself was still a teenager, Mozart's five violin concertos represent the gallant style at its very best, never disappointing with their irresistible effervescence and youthful charm.
