- Summary:
- A documentary on the violinist Jean-Luc Ponty by Michael Willis and William Streik. Jean-Luc Ponty is the pioneer of electric and electronic violin music. A formidable virtuoso, he is a disciple of contemporary violinist Stéphane Grappelli. He appeared on the scene well before Didier Lockwood, who is the most famous French jazz violinist today. Constantly traveling back and forth between Paris and New York, Ponty is one of the rare French composers and performers to become internationally renowned. With more than 35 years of a successful career behind him, he regularly works with musicians like Frank Zappa, George Duke, and Chick Corea.
