Summary:
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the twenty-first edition of the International Workshop on Mobile Computing Systems and Applications -- HotMobile 2020. This year continues the tradition of selective, highly interactive workshops that discuss the latest ideas in mobile systems and applications, along with new breakthroughs in underlying technologies. HotMobile's small workshop format makes it ideal for presenting and discussing new directions or controversial approaches. Our technical program features two keynote talks by Professor Cecilia Mascolo from University of Cambridge and Dr. Eve M. Schooler from Intel, 16 technical papers, one Junior Faculty/Researcher panel, as well as a Demo & Poster session. The Program Committee of 17 scholars selected the 16 full papers out of 48 submissions, resulting in an acceptance rate of 33%. All submissions received at least three reviews, and many received five reviews. An in-person PC meeting was held at University of Colorado Boulder to make the final decisions. The PC members demonstrated a strong commitment to the selection process, not only by submitting high-quality reviews and engaging in the discussions, but also by traveling to Boulder from locations all over the world, including Singapore, South Korea, and Finland. Accompanying full papers are a set of posters and demonstrations of exciting early stage research from the community. Collectively our program spans a rich range of topics and we feel this reflects the strong health, vibrancy, and breadth of the mobile computing field.
