- Summary:
- Piyut book, with Azharot, in the Moroccan Meknès custom compiled by David ben Aaron ibn Ḥassin of Meknès (1727-1792), and this manuscript copy written by his grandson Yehoshuaʻ ibn Ḥassin, copied from earlier manuscripts (first title page; his lineage mentioned on both title pages); piyutim for Passover (f. 3r-19v), Sukkot (f. 20r-29v), miscellanea (מלוקטים; f. 29v-33r), and Shavuot (f. 33r-37r; Azharot for Shavuot, f. 38r-45v; the Azharot, or extraliturgical piyutim composed for the Biblical Commandments, in this manuscript also written by David ibn Ḥassin). Written in a Moroccan cursive script (text) and a Sephardic square script (title page text, and captions in paragraphs). Title pages designed; first title page with an outtraced border floral design, shaped as a lambrequin arch, and second title page traced leaf patterns as herringbone styled border.
- Notes:
- Title supplied by cataloger.
- Torn folio stubs between f. 1-2 show missing folios (f. 2r is the tuǧra and motto of Ḥanokh ibn Ḥassin, suggesting that this section may have been of Ḥassin family tuǧras).
- Bound in a modern brown binding, with silver printed designs on spine (text פיוטים לפסח כת"י, with silver emblems).
